MEET THE TEAM
We are a group of health practitioners and therapists based in The Marlow Club in Buckinghamshire.
Marlow Health provides a service where patients have immediate access to medical services and can then benefit from longer appointments where all their medical issues can be discussed and addressed.
After qualifying from The British School of Osteopathy, London in 1989, Debbie worked in Amersham and Abingdon before establishing Marlow Osteopathic Clinic in 1990. Debbie also bought an existing osteopathic practice in Wantage, Oxfordshire in 1991 and developed this into a multi-disciplinary clinic which she sold in 1997 as she realised that she wanted to concentrate and develop her interests in her home town of Marlow.
Marlow Osteopathic Clinic moved to The Doctors’ House in Marlow in 1993 where Debbie was joined by Caroline Baker. After 21 years of being based at Marlow’s only doctor’s surgery, the clinic moved to Taylor House in Marlow High Street. The clinic continued to evolve but we wanted to expand our practice and work with other healthcare professionals and so in February 2019, we had the opportunity to relocate Marlow Osteopathic Clinic to The Marlow Club. This has proved to be a fantastic fit for our clinic and has enabled us to collaborate with a wider range of healthcare practitioners and so develop a multidisciplinary medical clinic, Marlow Health, which covers everyone’s healthcare needs.
Debbie specialises in treating sports injuries and apart from working within the clinical environment she has been the osteopath and sports injury practitioner for Wantage RUFC and Marlow RUFC from 1993 to 1999.
During that period, she also worked for The Scottish Exiles Rugby Union team and the England Rugby Union team. Debbie’s other sports injury experience includes treating members of the British Modern Pentathlon Team and travelling with them to Basel, Switzerland in 1995 for the Modern Pentathlon World Championship where she was osteopath to the men’s and women’s GB teams. Debbie also has a keen interest in golfing, rowing and hockey injuries and treats many members from the local golf clubs, Marlow, Leander and Upper Thames Rowing Clubs, Marlow Hockey Club and England Hockey.
Debbie has two children, Phoebe and Freya and uses her experiences of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood to treat expectant and new mothers. With her connections at her daughters’ school, Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School, she runs a sports injury clinic for their sports and dance students.
Debbie is proud to be celebrating being qualified as a registered osteopath for 33 years since July 2022.
